Alexander and Jeanette Toczko, an elderly married couple from California, died within a day of each other while clutching each other closely. They had been married for 75 years, and their love for one other had never waned. Aimee Toczko-Cushman, their daughter, caught the tender moment of their final hug.
Alexander and Jeanette met when they were eight and married in 1940. They are both 95 years old now. Alexander recently fractured his hip and became bedridden, and Jeanette grew ill. A hospice supplied unique beds where they could lie together and hold each other to care for them.

These two died in one other’s arms after 75 years of marriage, declaring their eternal love for one another.
“Wait for me, I’ll be there soon,” Jeanette said as Alexander died.
Alexander (95) and Jeanette (96) Toczko married in 1940 after dating since they were 8 years old.
“Their hearts have always beat as one,” explained their daughter, Aimee.
Jeanette’s health deteriorated after Alexander was admitted to the hospital with a broken hip.
They were survived by 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
The two of them were taking their last breaths together, and the hospice nurse said it was amazing to witness.
